Johan Fr. Odfjell

Johan Fr. Odfjell (born 1948) was elected to the Board in the autumn of 2000 and became Chairman of the Board in December 2003.

Odfjell is the chairman of the board/director of companies and foundations in the industrial, research and culture sectors. Odfjell was CEO of the Vesta Group until 1994 and has since worked as an investor and advisor. He has a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Victor Norman

Victor D. Norman (born 1946) was elected to the Board in 2004.

Norman is a professor of economics at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). He was the principal of this university from 1999 to 2001 and Norway’s Minister of Labour and Administration from 2001 to 2004.


Harald Norvik

Harald Norvik (born 1946) was the chairman of the board of the Ulltveit-Moe Group from 2000 to 2003, and was re-elected to Umoe’s board in 2006.

Norvik has had a long, varied career in politics and public enterprises, as well as in Norwegian society and industry. He was a key member of the Aker Group’s executive management during the important reorganisation of this group in 1981-1986, and was Statoil’s CEO from 1987-1999. Norvik has held a number of directorships in Norwegian cornerstone companies. He is now an independent Advisor and Consultant. He is the chairman of the boards of Telenor ASA and Aschehoug ASA, and a director of PGS and ConocoPhillips Inc. Norvik has a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH).


Jens Ulltveit-Moe

Jens Ulltveit-Moe (born 1942) is the Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer and, together with his family, he owns 99 per cent of the business.

He has a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Colombia University. After completing his education, he worked for McKinsey in New York and London before becoming managing director of Asterix Shipping, a tankerowning company in London, in 1973. He was headhunted to the failing company Knut Knutsen OAS in 1980. In 1984, he established the company that is now called Umoe AS. That same year, shipping operations were resumed in Knutsen OAS Shipping, and in 1986 he acquired Harding Safety AS, which was in receivership. He has since been an active, long-term owner and developer of a number of companies. He plays an active role in Norwegian society and is a former president of both the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. Ulltveit-Moe is the Chairman of the board of Kverneland ASA.


Ragnhild Kierulf Ulltveit-Moe

Ragnhild Ulltveit-Moe (born 1982) was elected to the Board in 2001.

She has a bachelor from University of Bergen and from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and a Master from London School of Economics (LSE). She has previously worked for United Nations Development Programme in China and has worked for Umoe Bioenergy since 2009.
