Jens Ulltveit-Moe
Jens Ulltveit-Moe (born 1942) is the Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer and, together with his family, he owns 99 per cent of the business.He has a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Colombia University.
After completing his education, he worked for McKinsey in New York and London before becoming managing director of Asterix Shipping, a tankerowning company in London, in 1973. He was headhunted to the failing company Knut Knutsen OAS in 1980. In 1984, he established the company that is now called Umoe AS. He has since been an active, long-term owner and developer of a number of companies.
He plays an active role in Norwegian society and is a former president of both the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. Ulltveit-Moe is the Chairman of the board of Kverneland ASA.
Jarle Roth
Jarle Roth (born 1960) is the Deputy CEO of the Umoe Group. He is the chairman of the boards of Umoe Mandal and Umoe Schat-Harding Group.Roth is a Board Member of the Grieg Shipping Group, Aibel and Enova. He is also member of the FAFO Research Foundation’s advisory committee. Jarle Roth has held several leading positions in the Umoe Group and was the CEO of Unitor ASA until this company was sold to Wilh. Wilhelmsen in 2005. Jarle Roth has a degree in naval architecture from MRIH and a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH).
Tom Ruud
Tom Ruud is a Norwegian citizen born in 1950 and was educated Civil Engineer 1974 from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU/NTH).Ruud also has attended an executive program at Wharton. Tom Ruud has over the years gained significant top management and board experience from different industries and parts of the world. Tom Ruud joined the Umoe group as Group CFO in 2008 coming from the Group Executive management of Nordea, the largest Nordic financial services group. Before that he is a former Group President and CEO of Norway’s second largest bank and Group CEO of Aker Norcem, both major companies listed on the Norwegian stock exchange.
Tom Ruud is currently Chairman of the Board Umoe BioEnergy SA and a number of other subsidiaries in the Umoe Group. He is currently also a Board member of Total E&P Norway AS and the Norwegian private investment group Kistefos AS.
Espen Klitzing
Espen Klitzing (born 1963) is the group’s CFO. He holds board positions in a number of subsidiaries in the Umoe Group.Prior to joining the Umoe Group in 2011 Espen Klitzing was a partner at McKinsey & Company. He has also held various top management positions in the Storebrand Group, in PGS and in NBIM. He was the CEO when Petrojarl ASA was spun off from PGS and listed on the OSE in 2006. He is currently Chairman of the Board in Alliance Venture Polaris AS and a board member in Statoil Pension.
Espen Klitzing holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business administration (NHH).
